Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well! Thank you all for your prayers and support. Today I want to share with you all a part of our organization that I am so passionate about participating in! The community empowerment program at Preparing the Way Ministries strives to break the cycle of poverty in the rural community churches throughout Kenya by providing micro-loans.
We desire to restore dignity to individuals by honoring the gifts and talents they have. We currently have a bee, chicken, and water project. Our desire is to continue growing this program as we develop a base and partnerships with business people.
This month, I want to highlight a beautiful woman named Lucy. She is a single mom and was struggling to pay her children's school fees. She had a small plot of land with a chicken coop and an area for her cows.
When our team met with Lucy a few months ago, it was evident that she was self-motivated and excited about what the Community Empowerment Program could do to support her dreams to provide for her family.
Through a micro-loan, Lucy was able to start a rotation of chickens where she can butcher every month and in so doing, have a regular income. This no-interest loan gave Lucy's family the ability to use the resources they have to acquire a sustainable income. We are excited to see what the future holds for Lucy's family as they continue to grow their farm!
